Be sure to take time for you. I just learned this and now I make it a priority for me and when you do it is sooooo refreshing. Take time to relax, and do nothing, in the beginning it was hard for me, because I HATE wasting time, but for me it is best for me to do nothing, because my mind is ALWAYS going!
There are so many different types of selfcare and I share those with you in one of my blog post, here are some highlights from that post:
These are 5 categories with examples of self-care and how they help you:
Get the full description of these selfcare categories in the blog you MUST take time for yourself. Read the blog posts, figure out which selfcare category you want to fit into (you may even want to fit your selfcare in all categories). JUST DO IT (sounds like Nike), if you are like me you pour out yourself to everybody but you, I had to learn the hard way to take time for me. Trust me you will feel better.
Here are a few selfcare activities:
- Read book
- Walk in the park (or take a long walk)
- Go to the beach and just relax (watch the people or read a book)
- Spa Day
- Pedicure and Manicure
The great thing about these activities that they can be for man or lady and won’t cost you a whole lot of money. Be sure during your selfcare to turn off all electronics (cell phone, tablet, laptop, desktop)
My best advice is to get in a quiet to meditate on committing to selfcare and determine when and what you will be doing for your selfcare and I would further advise to do this selfcare for yourself on a regular basis. I am actually doing the WHOLE month of selfcare for the month of August (I think I will journal my journey too), part of my selfcare will be also a commitment to more bible study, I know this will be a tremendous blessing for me.
Pick up my planner The Living on Purpose Matrix Planner and start planning your selfcare along with organizing your life.
Cheers to your selfcare plan for this month!
