I have seen this happen time and time again, and the host is upset because they either don't have the money or spent money that should have spent, which was allocated for something else. Sometimes the hard thing is to let go of something you really want, but if you can't afford it, don't purchase it!
A month ago I was reviewing the wedding budget for a client and I knew once we finished, that she wasn’t going to make budget, she was so adamant and rude and didn’t listen to me. Now with the wedding was days away, that non-refundable deposit on stuff she couldn’t afford and didn’t need she is going to lose. I wanted to yell at her and say “if you would have listened to me, there would be this problem, and you would have saved a lot of money” I kept telling her remember your budget, remember your budget, the more I said the angry she got. Until it was time to pay the bills!
It’s was so bad, some of the things she need she can’t afford and I have to figure a way around it. Some items I was able to get for free and some items were at a great discount, but it’s not exactly what she wants, be she conceded and utilized them.
Issues like these are one of the down falls of being a Wedding and Event Planner. My advice to anyone who is planning a wedding or even a event, outline EVERYTHING and put a cost next to it. Decided if you really need it and decided how bad do you want it.
The wedding planning guide will keep you on tasks with your budget, it will assist you in determining what you need and want for your wedding. The only thing this guide doesn't have is YOU (until you purchase it)...Lol
